Introduction to the Faculty of Law - Duy Tan University
The Faculty of Law at Duy Tan University was formerly the Law Department under the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Over more than 20 years of operation, the Law Department has continuously developed and progressed, always deserving its position as a leading department thanks to its well-trained, enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly qualified faculty.
According to the Prime Minister's plan for human resource development in Vietnam from 2011 to 2020, the need for additional human resources to support national development is immense; in particular, meeting the demand for legal human resources as a foundation for sustainable economic, political, and social development is becoming increasingly important and urgent. Therefore, establishing a new unit specializing in undergraduate law training at Duy Tan University, with the aim of expanding and providing postgraduate law training in the Central and Central Highlands regions, is a very necessary undertaking. On August 7, 2017, the Rector of Duy Tan University signed Decision No. 2232/QD-DHDT establishing the Faculty of Law at Duy Tan University. This contributes to addressing the shortage of human resources in the legal field for national development in general and the Central and Central Highlands regions in particular, in collaboration with other law training institutions nationwide.
Currently, the Faculty of Law has 23 full-time lecturers and 1 assistant; including 1 Associate Professor, 8 PhDs, and 14 Masters. In addition, the Faculty of Law also has many part-time lecturers who are visiting professors, associate professors, and PhDs from law training institutions, research institutes, and relevant ministries and sectors. With a training approach that closely links education with empirical research, the faculty members of the Faculty of Law continuously improve their professional qualifications and skills to enhance the quality of research and teaching, meeting the needs of society. The Faculty of Law is currently offering two majors: Law and Economic Law. These are majors that are of great interest to society and have high recruitment needs to meet the diverse requirements of socio-economic development, especially in the context of globalization and international integration. The curriculum provides students with a solid foundation of knowledge in Vietnamese and international law; develops the skills, attitudes, thinking, and practical experience necessary to succeed in a global work environment, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of our country.

- Training Scale: Annually, the Faculty of Law at Duy Tan University trains between 800 and 1,000 students.
- Training Methods: Full-time and distance learning.
- Mission: To train law graduates with the knowledge and skills to practice consulting, business development and management; negotiate, draft, and sign contracts; perform the functions of legal experts in agencies, organizations, and businesses; be able to independently propose solutions to legal situations in social life and business; and master the operational procedures when businesses participate in litigation arising from economic activities. After graduation, students can work in businesses (corporations, state-owned enterprises, FDI enterprises, private enterprises, etc.); government systems at all levels; political and social organizations, social organizations, and professional organizations. Law enforcement agencies (Police, Procuracy, Courts, Enforcement agencies, Inspectorates, Commercial Arbitration Centers, etc.) or other legal positions (Insolvency Administrators, Notaries, etc.) and legal consulting service providers (Notary Offices, Law Offices, Law firms, Legal Consulting Centers, etc.)
Specifically, starting in 2020, the Faculty of Law at Duy Tan University will offer a Master's program in Economic Law. This program provides comprehensive knowledge and professional expertise to meet the current demands of Vietnam and enable graduates to participate in domestic and international litigation. Furthermore, the Faculty of Law at Duy Tan University will continue to offer Master's programs in Law to meet the growing demand for human resources in the Central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam, as well as nationwide.
